AC - Area Coordinator, University Staff member who oversees Resident Assistants from several buildings. Visit your AC if you have questions about housing or just want support, they are there for you!
ACE - Activities and Cultural Events Board, a student organization that sponsors events such as Open Mic and Lip Sync. They are frequently at other organization’s events as the University DJ’s and tech support.
CPS - Campus Public Safety, CPS officers are a very friendly group of people available to you 24 hours a day to help with emergency and security needs.
CASSS - The College of Arts and Sciences Student Senate, the elected undergraduate student body government whose voice is heard throughout the Pacific community.
CGE - Center for Gender Equity, an active student organization best known for their ‘Brown Bag lunches’ and guest speakers.
CLIC - The Center for Language and International Collaboration, a multi-media, interactive and collaborative learning center located in Scott Hall the CLIC reflects the best practices of language and international pedagogy.
FYS - First Year Seminar is a humanities class required for an undergraduate degree.
HC - Hillsboro Campus is Pacific's campus located in Hillsboro, Oregon. Dental Health Science, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, Pharmacy and Professional Psychology are all located at this location.
IPSS - Inter-professional Programs Student Senate is the representative voice of the students of Pacific University's professional programs - Optometry, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, Professional Psychology, Education, Pharmacy and Dental Health Science.
LEED - Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design - sustainable building practices and design lead to recognition for our buildings and university. We currently have five, with more on the way!
LSS - Learning Support Services, provides a resource for all students who may be experiencing a disability or with a learning style need.
LPAC - Lincoln Park Athletic Complex.
MAC - The affectionate term for McCormick Hall, one of the on-campus residence halls.
NHOH - Na Haumana O Hawai’i or Hawai’i Club, is open to all Pacific University students interested in Island Culture, it is best known for the annual Lu’au.
Nunnery - a fond name for the west wing of Walter Hall, this is the only all female section of any residence hall.
OTSS - Office of Transfer Student Services.
PIC - the Pacific Information Center is located in the middle of the UC and is the place to get information you need.
PSC - Psychological Service Center - located in downtown Portland, this houses our own training clinic for Professional Psychology.
PUGS - Pacific University Greek Senate is a group formed by representatives of the active fraternities and sororities at Pacific.
RA - Resident Assistants are students who were chosen to live and work with students in the residence halls. There's one in every wing of every residence hall.
RHA - Resident Housing Association is just like your neighborhood association. They are a group of students who arrange hall programs for the residence halls throughout the school year.
SC - the Stoller Center, formerly the Pacific Athletic Center, is the athletic building that is open to all students with a modern, well-equipped workout facility, plus handball, racquetball and basketball courts.
TIC - the Technology Information Center is located in the lower level of Marsh Hall. The staff there can help you with your computer questions and problems.
UC - the University Center is in the middle of campus. It is where you will eat, study and probably hang out. It's like Pacific's living room.
UC Box - This is how we refer to your mailbox, which is located in the lower level of the UC. Be sure to check often.
Vanders - Vandervelden Court is the upper-classmen apartment style housing on campus.
