Welcome to our New Director
Gary Pacarro ’74, the founding director of Pacific University’s Hawai‘i Office, is a long-time advocate for Pacific students.
As a student in the early 1970s, Pacarro played basketball and developed a love of music while earning his bachelor’s degree. He went on to a robust career in financial planning, coaching and teaching. He taught and coached basketball at the prestigious Punahou School, which he attended as a youth.
He has remained closely involved with Pacific University, helping to plan alumni, student recruitment and parent events on the islands and building the university relationships with local people and businesses.
Most recently, Gary has served as a member of the Pacific University Board of Trustees, and he was a strong proponent of the effort to establish a formal university presence in Hawai‘i.
