Seasonal Influenza Vaccine: As you are aware seasonal flu vaccine has been available on a sporadic basis. The Student Health Center has held 4 seasonal flu vaccine clinics. If we receive more shipments of vaccine, we will hold additional clinics which will be advertised by email sent to all students, staff and faculty.
Opportunity to receive the vaccine will also be sporadically available in the community at area stores and pharmacies. Because the Student Health Center does not know if or how much more vaccine we will receive, we recommend that you take advantage of receiving vaccine if you see it is available elsewhere.
H1N1 vaccine clinics have been scheduled for eligible Pacific students, staff and faculty
Students, staff and faculty who meet the conditions of any of the priority groups listed below are eligible to receive H1N1 vaccinations during the Nov. 18th and Nov. 23rd clinics on a first-come, first-serve basis until supplies run out. We have received a limited number of vaccines and will receive additional supplies as they become available. Given the shortage of vaccine at this time, only those in the priority groups below for vaccination will receive a vaccination at this time.
Priority Groups
Due to the supply of vaccine against pandemic H1N1 influenza arriving more slowly than originally anticipated, the following population groups are in the priority vaccination group as specified by the Centers for Disease Control Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices:
- Adults under 25 years of age
- Caretakers of children under 6 months old
- Pregnant women
- Adults aged 24-65 with chronic medical conditions that put them at risk of complications from influenza infection (such as heart or lung disease, asthma, reactive airways, kidney disease, metabolic disease e.g., diabetes, blood diseases, auto immune disease)
- Healthcare providers and emergency medical services providers
- Frontline law enforcement and corrections officers

You can stay healthy and prevent spread of illness by following advice in links below.
Visit the Question and Answer link below for students on what H1N1 is, what steps to take to protect yourself, and what you should do if you become ill.
