Pacific University is pleased to encourage and support alternative transportation and offer our employees the opportunity to purchase Tri-Met Universal Annual transportation passes at a great savings. The pass is good for all times, all zones, bus, light rail and the Portland streetcar.
Pacific Passes will be available to faculty and staff only from Human Resources. In order to purchase the pass, bring your Boxer ID Card to Human Resources. You fill out a payroll deduction form which will allow us to deduct the cost of the pass pre-tax. The cost for the pass is currently $125.89 annually and for this initial year of the program a deduction of $65 will taken out of the first check following your sign-up and then another deduction in January of 2008. The reason for splitting the deduction is that Pacific will be conducting a commute survey in early fall and based on the results of the survey the cost of the transportation passes may be reduced.
The Pacific Pass validation sticker will be placed on your Boxer ID Card and this must be carried with you as proof of fare payment. No validations stickers will be issued without a valid Boxer ID Card.
Pacific Pass Payroll deduction forms are available on the HR Web Page at: http://www.pacificu.edu/offices/hr/forms/
Pacific Passes will be available at HPC Suite 101 August 24,2007. The passes are effective until August 31, 2008.
Note: if you were to purchase a yearly all zone Tri-Met pass, it would cost $814 so you can see this is a significant savings when purchased through Human Resources. Visit http://www.trimet.org/fares/index.htm for more fare information.
Carpools are designed for at least three people who travel the majority of time to campus together. The four carpool spaces are available on site and are at no cost.
