Health Professions Campus
HPC2
On Aug. 31, 2010 Pacific University celebrated the opening of its second building (HPC2) at the Health Professions Campus. The expansion was highlighted at the "Health & Education District Showcase" that day. The newly formed district is comprised of Pacific University, the City of Hillsboro, Tuality Healthcare, the Virginia Garcia Memorial Center and Portland Community College.
The new 59,800-square-foot building joins Creighton Hall, which was built in 2006. Several graduate health programs are now housed in HPC2. Watch the new building take shape in a time-lapse video of its construction.
Creighton Hall
The Washington County healthcare community officially expanded Aug. 17, 2006 when Pacific University formally dedicated its Health Professions Campus in Hillsboro, Oregon. Since its founding in 1849, Pacific University has been an educational leader in Washington County and the Pacific Northwest. Now, after 160 years in Forest Grove, Pacific has opened the doors to a new venture.
At the dedication of the first building Aug. 17, 2006 speakers included Pacific University's 16th President Dr. Phillip Creighton and Board of Trustee Chairman Tim Schauermann. Additional speakers included U.S. Senators Ron Wyden and Gordon Smith, U.S. Congressman David Wu and Hillsboro Mayor Tom Hughes. Pacific's partners in the project -- Tuality Healthcare President/CEO Dick Stenson and Gil Munoz, executive director of Virginia Garcia Center -- also spoke. More than 300 people were in attendance for the ceremonies.
The Pacific University Health Professions Campus is located on a 1/2 -acre site on the Tuality Healthcare Hillsboro campus anchored by the Tuality Community Hospital. The campus is located, along the south side of Washington Street and the MAX light rail midway between S.E. 7th and 9th Avenues.
Pacific University, Tuality Healthcare and Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center working together, that's now the gold standard for collaboration.
Senator Ron Wyden (D-Ore.)
