Library partners with Washington County Museum on digital library project
Pacific University's Library and the Washington County Museum have received a grant of $107,000 from the Institute of Museum and Library Services to create a digital library of historic photographs illustrating the vibrant history and development of the county.
The initial goal of the Washington County Digital Library is to make these historic images, physically housed in historical societies and libraries throughout the county, easily accessible to students, researchers and the public through a single unified online collection.
The cooperative effort is led by Pacific and the Washington County Museum and also involves public libraries and cultural heritage organizations throughout the county as additional partners.
The project is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act, and administered by the Oregon State Library.
