Open access journals do not charge subscription fees, and their full-text articles are available freely online. In the list below, we have listed some sites/portals that you can use to find open access journals/articles that are of interest to you. - Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)
DOAJ is one of the most comprehensive lists of open access journals available. Journals are gathered into subject-specific lists, which you can browse to find journals. You may also search for journals, and also search for articles within journals whose content is also listed on DOAJ.
- Directory of Open Access Scholarly Journals in Education
The Education Research Global Observatory is a project on the National Education Policy Center at the University of Colorado, Boulder. ERGO maintains a complete and current directory of open access peer-reviewed journals in education.
BioMed Central is an STM (Science, Technology and Medicine) publisher of open access
journals. All original research articles published by BioMed Central are made freely and
permanently accessible online immediately upon publication. BioMed Central views open
access to research as essential in order to ensure the rapid and efficient communication of
research findings.
Highwire Press is an epublishing platform from Stanford University. Not all journals on the
Highwire site are freely available, but there are many that make their back issues freely
available, and some that are completely open access. HP provides free access to over
2,000,000 free articles and counting!
