Darlene Larson PT ’91 resides in Florida where she practices physical therapy at Smith Skilled Nursing Facility, the in-patient center at a local hospital and patients’ homes. She has not been on campus since graduating, but plans on returning this fall for Reunion.
Major Marji Burniston ’98, O.T. ’01, currently stationed in Las Vegas, returned to service in the U.S. Army as an occupational therapist in January 2006 after graduating from Pacific’s School of Occupational Therapy in 2001. In 2011, she was promoted to Major and received the Iron Major Award, which recognizes the top 10 percent of the Army Medical Specialist Corps for exceptional contributions and displayed leadership. Before moving to Afghanistan next summer, she will attend Reunion this fall.
Rodney Helm ’69, O.D. ’71 lives with his wife, Vickie ’71, in Park Rapids, Minn., where he practices optometry in his clinic with Murray Westberg O.D. ’05 and Jenni Keller O.D. ’11. Helm started biking in Forest Grove while attending Pacific and biked 64 miles on his birthday in the summer of 2011, continuing his annual tradition of biking his new age on every birthday.
Sadie Bliss and husband Laughlin Chanler welcomed daughter Juno Priscilla on Aug. 19, 2013. She weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and joins big brother Marvin.
Aimée Ault Elliott recently accepted a full-time tenure-track position in culinary studies at University of Montana. She and husband Jonah welcomed son Lennon Sage Kealiimahiai on Oct. 14, 2013. He weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces and measured 21 inches long.
Ryan Stanley and wife Rebecca welcomed son Hunter Ryan Stanley on Aug. 21, 2013. He weighed 7 pounds and measured 19 inches long.
Kara Yedinak earned a PhD in engineering science from Washington State University in September. Her research involved studying the interactions between wildland forest fires and the atmosphere with computer models and field measurements.
Jill (Remiticado) Uyeda and husband Howard welcomed daughter Sidney on Oct. 11, 2013.
Randall J. Kempfer ’03, OD ’06 was named Young Optometrist of the Year by the Minnesota Optometric Association at its 2013 fall meeting. His primary practice is with InVision Eye Care in Fergus Fall, Minn.
Anahita Nemat married Christopher Renner on Oct. 13, 2013, in Pittsburgh. They live in Northern Virginia.
