Carrie Newman ’88 is executive director of the Fort Collins Symphony Orchestra. Since graduating from Pacific, she has served in the Peace Corps in central Africa, earned a graduate degree in health policy from the University of Chicago and spent more than 15 years in health administration. David Cook OD ’78 has published a new novel, The Anatomy of Blindness. Calling it a spiritual adventure story, Cook says the novel is about a behavioral optometrist who joins a consulting group that is, in fact, a front for an alternative religious group. The novel, he says, offers a new way of seeing the world. Cook owns Cook Vision Therapy Center in Marietta, Ga., and is a member of several national and international optometric organizations. He lectures throughout the United States, most recently at the Northwest Congress of Optometry, which met Feb. 22-23 at Pacific University. Read more in the Editor's Blog.

Molly Fischer has earned a master’s degree in aeronautical science with an emphasis in human factor engineering in aviation systems from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Jeannine Hall Gailey MFA served as poet laureate in Redmond, Wash. Her third poetry book, Unexplained Fevers, was published in 2013 by New Binary Press. A fourth book, The Robot Scientist’s Daughter, about growing up in Oak Ridge, Tenn., in the shadow of a nuclear site, will be published next year by Mayapple Press.
Jessica Ley Metcalf MS ’05, PsyD ’07 is in her second year as assistant director of counseling and psychiatry at the University of Vermont. Her work includes directing the intern training program in clinical and counseling psychology and clinical mental health. Metcalf lives just outside of Burlington with her husband and son.

Charnae (Little) Decker and husband Adam welcomed daughter Emerie Kay Decker on Feb. 16, 2014. She weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces and measured 21 ½ inches. She joins big brother Miles.
