24-Hour Service Fair

Pacific students participated in 21 different service projects during the 24-Hour Service Fair on March 10-11. Projects ranged from clearing a Little League ball field of overgrown grass to collecting pajamas for orphans.

Carry On with Pacific, Kansas

The Pacific University Philharmonic will perform with renowned classic rock band Kansas at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, at the Roseland Theater, as part of the band’s Symphony Rocks Collegiate Tour. Girls only! High-tech camp

Oregon Public Broadcasting produced a 10-minute video about Pacific’s inaugural Girls Gather for Computer Science day camp. The camp invites seventh- and eighth-grade girls to the Forest Grove campus for four weeks of web and 3D programming, Lego robotics and other science and technology fun. The second installment takes place this summer. Check out coverage of the camp later this summer.

Give ‘Em a Lift

Pacific University staff psychologist Jeff Guardalabene (“Dr. Jeff”) gained attention this winter when the active blogger/Twitter commentator launched a Holiday Fare blog to collect donated TriMet mass transit tickets for people in need. As of mid-March, the drive brought in some $3,700 worth of tickets, which have been donated to agencies serving those in need.
