Fresh New Guest Choreographer, Allie Boyden, for Autumn Choreographers Concert


Allie Boyden, a fresh new choreographer, is working with Pacific Dance Ensemble this fall, setting a fresh new work titled, "Will his Ship come in." It will be presented Nov. 17, 18, 19 in the Tom Miles Theatre.


Allie Boyden, originally from Oregon, earned her bachelor of arts in dance from Western Oregon University.  She is an innovative choreographer from the Portland area. Her work explores real-life social issues, such as the oppression of female abuse in drug trafficking, and the realities of war and the experiences women endure while waiting for their husbands’ safe return. 

Allie’s training includes idioms such as ballet, modern, West African, jazz, hip-hop, improvisationand composition. She has participated in workshops with Martha Graham Dance Company, Paul Taylor Dance Company, Garth Fagan Dance, Lucinda Child's Company, Amy O'Neil, TEETH, as well as with multiple international artists through a Seattle summer programs. Allie has been a guest performer with the Eugene Ballet Company and Dance Theater of Oregon, and has performed various works from guest choreographers such as Jodi Melnick and Margo Van Ummerson.
