
Guest Contemporary Dance Faculty, Timothy Johnson, to teach Spring 2013
Portland professional dancer Timothy Johnson will be a guest faculty member for the Theatre and Dance Department this Spring. Johnson plans to teach Intermediate Contemporary Dance from 9:40-11:15 a.m. on Tuesdays/Thursdays.
Timothy Johnson, a native of Houston, has taught and choreographed at colleges and studios in Texas, including San Jacinto College and Houston Community College. He also received the opportunity to attend the American Dance Festival in North Carolina, where he worked with Gerri Houlihan, Douglas Neilson, Trisha Brown, Anouk van Dyke, Ursula Payne, Keith Thompson and Robert Battle.
Tim has danced in numerous dance companies in Texas, including Houston Metropolitan, Sandra Organ, Patheatre and Psophonia.
Since his recent move to Portland in 2009, Tim has danced with Polaris Dance Theatre and PDX Collective Dance company.
Most recently, he performed with the Broadway Rose Theatre as Richie Walters in A Chorus Line, and in Sweet Charity and Annie Get Your Gun at the Lakewood Theatre.
