Fall Choral Concert set for Friday, Nov. 4
The performance showcases Pacific's outstanding vocalists. Ensembles include the University Chamber Singers, Concert Choir, male a cappella group Splendid Audacity and the Pacific University Collegium Musicum.
Pacific University’s Music Department will hold its fall choral concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4 in the Taylor-Meade Performing Arts Center (2014 Cedar Street, Forest Grove).
The concert will include performances by the Pacific University Chamber Singers, Pacific’s Concert Choir, male a cappella group Splendid Audacity and the Pacific University Collegium Musicum.
The Chamber Singers, under the direction of Dr. Scott Tuomi and accompanied by pianist Janet Coleman, will perform William Byrd’s “Sing Joyfully,” and Franz Schubert’s part song “Des Tages Weihe.”
Other works to be performed by the Singers include Morten Lauriden’s “Sure on this Shining Night,” and the world premiere of “Musicians Wrestle Everywhere,” written by Pacific composer and music professor Tim Stephens.
The Collegium Musicum will sing Madigrals by Morely, Dowland and Weelkes.
General admission is $7 and tickets may be purchased in advance by calling the Pacific Box Office at (503) 352-2918. Box Office hours are Mon.-Fri. from 1 to 5 p.m.
Students with valid identification and senior citizens age 65 and greater gain entry for $5.
Both general admission and discounted tickets will also be available at the door.
