Center for Civic Engagement invites public to open house on Thursday, Nov. 17
Learn about the University's community service initiatives while enjoying refreshments. The event also commences the Center's toiletry drive benefiting three social services organizations.
Pacific University's Center for Civic Engagement will hold an open house from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at its office in Scott Hall on the Forest Grove campus (2125 College Way).
The public is invited to enjoy refreshments, meet the Center staff and learn about Pacific's community service resources and opportunities both locally and abroad.
The Center will also kick off a toiletry drive at the open house. Attendees are encouraged to bring new, unopened toiletry items that will be collected for three partner social service organizations: Severe Weather Shelter, Family Bridge and HomePlate Youth Services.
Items most in need are deodorant sticks, bar soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo and hair conditioner.
The Center for Civic Engagement recently offered a workshop for local educators and volunteers on how to effectively teach others about personal finance and budgeting. Click here to learn more.
