National Leadership Organization Recognizes Pacific Community Members
Student leader Shelby Hoppe earns "Student of the Month" award for April from the National Association of College and University Residence Halls. Additionally, Dining Services employee, Astrid, is recognized as "Spotlight of the Month" for the region.
Pacific's chapter of the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) earned one national and one regional "Of the Month" award for April from the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH) and the Pacific Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (PACURH). These awards honor the people, organizations and programs that make living on campus a transformative experience.
Chris Mikulic, McCormick Hall resident assistant and newly inducted NRHH member, highlighted the leadership demonstrated by student leader Shelby Hoppe in his "Student of the Month" nomination, which won the award on both the regional and national levels. Mikulic writes that Hoppe is "very passionate about the natural environment and also a student’s social and academic environment." The award goes on to highlight Hoppe's work in a variety of roles including Student Senate, First-Year Seminar, Voyages and student activities.
Additionally, Astrid, a Dining Services employee, was recognized as the PACURH region's "Spotlight of the Month" for her endless warmth towards students. Liz Quimby, Walter Resident Assistant and NRHH Board Member, wrote the nomination.
The chapter won two other regional awards this year: one for Lauren Seeger's nomination of the 24 Hour Service Fair and one for Liz Quimby's nomination of Dining Services employee Mr. V.
