Theatre faculty Tal Sanders and Ellen Margolis honored by local guild

Professors are among the 2012 Drammy Award winners.

Two Pacific University Theatre professors have been honored by the Portland Civic Theatre Guild.

Professor and department chair Ellen Margolis and assistant professor Tal Sanders are among the 2012 Drammy Award winners.

Sanders' work on the set for the Oregon Children's Theatre production "Locomotion" earned a Drammy in the Scenic Design category.

Margolis received a Drammy in the Original Script category for her play "Splasher," part of Shaking the Tree Studio's "The Tripping Point" project.

The Oregonian's Marty Hughley captured the essence of the awards ceremony held June 12 at the Crystal Ballroom in downtown Portland.

Since 1979, the Drammy Committee has strived to promote live theatre in Portland by recognizing and rewarding the outstanding work of Portland-area actors, directors and designers.
