Pioneering cohort celebrates completion of innovative teacher education program

The first class of six Woodburn STEM MAT candidates were joined by family, friends, mentor teachers and Pacific University faculty members on June 8 in a festive Pacific Woodburn Grad Night, held in conference facilities immediatley adjacent to Pacific University's new downtown Woodburn site.

Candidates displayed and discussed action research representing the year's work becoming science, technology, engineering and mathematics teachers. Each candidate was invited to share a one-minute synopsis of the experience in the Woodburn STEM MAT program, in which they thanked family and faculty. Each sharing time was follwed by a champagne toast to the candidate.
