Spanish for Heritage Speakers

Pacific now offers a Spanish course for native speakers who may not have formally studied the language. Contact Professor Mariana Valenzuela for more info.

Spanish Speaking Students—Welcome to Pacific!

If you have grown up in a household or neighborhood that speaks Spanish, we encourage you to consider a new course we are offering, Spanish 255: Spanish for Heritage Speakers, taught by Professor Mariana Valenzuela. Students may still add this class to their fall schedules.

This course is designed for students who are native speakers of Spanish but have not studied the language formally. In this course, students will learn accentuation, syllabification, grammatical terminology and sentence analysis through written exercises and cultural and literary readings. Instructor approval required.

For more information, please contact Professor Mariana Valenuzela at vale9503@pacificu.edu or 503-352-1560.
