FREE Professional Journals
This month you have the opportunity to look at a number of different professional journals.
Everyone should be able to find a journal that will help them either in their practicum and student teaching or a journal to answer some professional questions you might have. The journals cover three different areas:
- We have several different journals related to Giftedness. There are some copies of the Gifted Child Quarterly which is the official journal of the National Association for Gifted Children. This journal contains research studies on things related to giftedness. Another journal is the Gifted Child Today. This journal is considered a resource for nurturing gifted and talented children.
- We also have two journals related to the teaching of science. There is Science and Children, a great resource for elementary teachers and Science Scope for middle school teachers. Both of these would be excellent resources for building a science unit.
- Finally, there are copies of YC; this is the journal of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Although a lot of the information is for pre-K children, there is still a lot of information if you're a parent of a young child or a primary teacher to make it worth your while to check it out.
These magazines will only be available through the end of May. You will find them on the book cart in the student lounge.
