Notes from Under the Oaks
The year has just begun, but we're already pretty excited about October. Homecoming 2013 will kick off on Friday October, 11.
We expect hundreds of alumni to return to campus for reunions and other activities, including the football game against University of Puget Sound on Saturday, October 12. Mark your calendars!
Of course, excited as we are about Homecoming, we also have the rest of the year to look forward to. As we were visiting yesterday about our hopes for 2013, one of the things we all agreed we love best about our work is the small insight we get to have into special moments in the lives of Boxer alumni. Last year we got to share in the joy of 60 new jobs and other professional accomplishments, 54 marriages and 67 babies. That is whole lot of joy!
We also hope to see alumni in person. The calendar will be filled with opportunities for alumni to gather at events, but we also like to see alumni on campus. In fact the Abbott Center, which is home to our offices, is also home to two guests rooms where alumni can stay up to three nights for free! Give us a call or send us an email to reserve a room.
We’d love to hear your ideas and questions. If you live in the Portland-area I’d love to take you out for a meal just to hear your thoughts or share information about the University.
If nothing else we hope to see you at Homecoming 2013, which will be ever present in our minds as we spend the next nine months preparing for the big weekend. If your class year ends in a 3 or an 8 and you’d like to ensure your class gathers for a reunion, please contact me.
Until then, please keep in touch! Send us your stories and don’t hesitate to contact us if we can be of assistance.
