Berglund Faculty Fellowship Deadline is April 1

April 1 is the deadline to submit Berglund Center for Internet Studies' Faculty Research Fellowship proposals for the 2013-2014 academic year. The award has been raised from $3,500 to $5,000.

The Berglund Center for Internet Studies at Pacific University seeks fellowship proposals from up to two Pacific University staff or faculty members for 2013-2014. 

Successful applicants will be named as Berglund Fellows for the 2013-2014 academic year and have access to the facilities of the Center, including student assistance based on availability and need. This year, the fellowships has been changed from $3,500 to will the amount of $5,000 each, and the fellowship will be awarded jointly to the fellow and his or her school or department. 

This year's fellows are Brent Johnson (associate professor for the English Department) and Mark Bailey (professor of education).

The Berglund Center for Internet Studies is willing to participate in forming proposals in the early stages. Completed proposals must be received by Monday, April 1, 2013.

The bulk of the research for these Fellowships will take place during either the fall term of 2013, spring of 2014, or both. All projects are related to the use of the Internet. All inquiries are welcome at In the subject line, please place "Berglund Fellowship."

The Berglund Center at Pacific University facilitates both theoretical discussion and practical action relating to the impact of the Internet upon individuals and their communities worldwide. We study the effects of the Internet on the ways we work, communicate, teach, and learn. The Berglund Center for Internet Studies was endowed in 2000 by a generous gift from Pacific University alumni Drs. Mary and James Berglund of La Jolla, California.

The Berglund Center for Internet Studies is the single source of support for faculty, student, and staff Internet-related research and publications, which spans all academic units of Pacific University.
