A fake message was sent out to numerous university email addresses claiming that users had 24 hours to respond to a Word attachment included in the email alert. This is easily identifiable as an attempt to have users open an infected attachment that is not from Pacific University. Users should delete the message.

If you have Word document provided in the email message, please contact the Technology Information Center right away.

Reminder: UIS will never ask for your password or other personal, private information via email.  To learn more about how to identify phishing messages, please see the short video on the UIS web site at: http://www.pacificu.edu/uis/generalinfo/phishing.cfm.
