Pacific Offers Employee Discount for Tri-Met

Annual Tri-Met pass available at a fraction of the price for Pacific University employees.

Pacific University is pleased to encourage and support alternative transportation by offering employees the opportunity to purchase a Tri-Met Universal Annual Transportation Pass at a great discount. The 2013-14 pass is now available at the Office of Human Resources. 

The pass is valid for all times, all days and all zones for buses, MAX light rail and the Portland streetcar from now through Aug. 31, 2014. Passes are available to all benefit-eligible faculty and staff of Pacific University. The cost for this year’s pass is $159.74.

To purchase the pass: 

1) Fill out a payroll deduction form which can be found online at

2) If you work at the:

Forest Grove Campus: Bring your Boxer ID card and completed enrollment form to the Office of Human Resources (on 21st Avenue between the Milky Way and Maggie’s Buns).

Hillsboro Campus: Bring your Boxer ID card and completed enrollment form to Carole Billings or Pam Arnold in HPC2, suite 230.

Another location in the Portland metropolitan area and would like to purchase a passplease contact HR at 503-352-2210, so that we can try and come up with a plan that will work for you.

The fee of $159.74 will be taken as a one-time deduction out of the first paycheck following your purchase of the pass. The Pacific Pass validation sticker will be placed on your Boxer ID card after you submit a signed payroll deduction form. No validation stickers will be issued without a valid Boxer ID Card. Keep in mind that you must have your Boxer ID with you every time you use Tri-Met as it serves as proof of fare payment.

Please note that the retail price for an annual all-zone Tri-Met pass is $1,100. The Pacific University employee discount rate represents a savings of more than 85 percent.
