Winter Weather is Here - Sign Up for Boxer Alerts

In the event of a change in university operations due to weather, including delays or closures, Boxer Alerts will let you know.

With winter weather forecasted as we head into the colder months, there is always the possibility that inclement weather might impact one or more of our campuses, clinics and site hours, our schedules and our commutes.

Inclement weather conditions include weather that may affect travel, and may or may not temporarily suspend university operations or place the campus communities in immediate danger. Examples include: heavy rain, snow, wind or lightning storms in the area.

Boxer Alerts
If you are receiving Boxer Alerts, via email and/or text message, any changes to campus schedules will be communicated via that channel. These messages are typically sent out by 6:30 a.m. We want to encourage you to have Boxer Alerts set up so you get messages like these. If you have not yet signed up, you can do so now.

The best and most effective method for all faculty, staff and students to receive this information is through the Boxer Alerts notification system. When subscribing, please be sure to identify yourself within the appropriate group. For example, if you are a student at the Forest Grove campus, please ensure you have chosen that group upon sign-up.

We also post this information on the university website, communicate with local news media and update on the main switchboard. So, as an example, if you want to check on information on Thursday morning and have just signed up, also check out the home page.

Safety
If your location is open, please plan to be on site. If there is a delayed opening or early closure, please adjust your schedule. If at anytime you do not feel safe getting to your Pacific site because of weather conditions, and mass transit is not a reasonable choice, please discuss options with your supervisor or faculty (students) before considering your next step.

Thank you very much for your attention and best wishes for a safe and enjoyable holiday season.
