New Pacific University Website Update

We're Building Our New Website

Quick update on our new Pacific University website, which will launch in 2014. The customized Drupal build out is well underway, and BrandJuice will deliver that build out to us on Jan. 23. The initial build out consists of the creative, content types, first pages and modules. At the end of January we will begin populating pages with content, building out all pages, developing new content and reviewing and editing everything that is currently online. This will be a collaborative project with stakeholders throughout the university. While navigation and creative has been set, we will be creating and updating content in this process.

Our Focus
At this time, our Internet Team has a primary focus on the new website. That means that it is not business as usual, and although we will keep our shop open as able to support the Pacific community, our focus in addition to the new website is fixing what is broken and creating anything new that needs to be online prior to our new website launch (such as a new program). Every member of the Office of Marketing & Communications will be part of this process. For more information about our website development, check out Internet Strategy.

Maintaining our Current Website
Please continue to update, maintain and create content for your area of the website. This ensures the best experience for website visitors today and will help us successfully transition to a new website in the near future.

Project Scope
If helpful. The scope of the Internet Strategy project is to create a new website built on Drupal, a Content Management System (CMS) with a strong design and improved navigation (site architecture). The externally facing site focuses on an external audience (prospective students and parents) and internal audiences (current students, faculty and staff). MyPacific, geared to our internal audiences, will use our existing technology, serving the information up through strengthened navigation specific to that audience. In addition, our new website will be mobile ready (responsive design).

Next Steps
While much work has been completed, some of the heavy lifting internally will be underway shortly, with the build out of our new website.

Continued Communication
If this information would be of interest to members of your team, please share this communication with them. If I can answer any questions, please let me know how I can assist. We will continue to send periodical updates via email, PUNN and BoxerBriefs and will continue to ask for feedback on the work-in-progress.
