Emeritus Physics Professor W. Thomas Griffith establishes fund to support summer physics research.
W. Thomas Griffith, PhD taught Physics at Pacific University for more than 36 years. Upon his retirement in 2003, he was awarded faculty emeritus status as a distinguished professor of physics.
As a testament to his enduring belief in higher education and research conducted by undergraduate students, he established this past December the Griffith, Fehrs and Brosing Summer Physics Research Endowment Fund at Pacific’s School of Natural Sciences. Further, the fund is named in honor of his long-time colleagues Mary Fehrs PhD (retired) and Juliet Brosing PhD, who were Griffith’s Physics Department colleagues for many years during his tenure.
