Mandatory online trainings for all faculty and staff: Anti Harassment, Diversity and Title IX

Dear Colleagues:

I’m proud to say that Pacific University embraces the values of tolerance and respect of all the members of our community. To ensure that we remain a community that we all can be proud of, Pacific is continuing its commitment to making sure our university is free from harassment of any kind, including sexual harassment.

Therefore, we have arranged for employees to participate in a new, improved web-based training program called, “Campus Compliance Training.” The program outlines current laws on unlawful harassment and/or discrimination  by using examples to illustrate words and behaviors that might reasonably be regarded as harassment or discrimination that  should be avoided. The goal of this training is to provide a process for all employees to become aware of these laws, and to provide a safe environment for all members of the community to work and learn.

To comply with federal and state regulation, and to embrace our core values, our proactive position is that Anti Harassment, Diversity and Title IX trainings are mandatory for all employees. I very much appreciate your support and participation in this important initiative.

Please look for the assigned training information to arrive in your Pacific University email by April 15, 2014.
