Holiday Food / Gift Baskets for Families in Need
Pacific University continues tradition of providing Holiday Gift Baskets to families in need.

SUBJECT: Holiday Baskets for Families in Need
This year, Pacific University will again continue our tradition of providing Holiday Baskets for local area community members in need. Departments, divisions or student groups are asked to adopt a family and provide a basket of food and gifts for them.
Oregon Food Bank-Washington County Services is transferring full coordination of this program over to Salvation Army. The Holiday Basket Program will now be known as the Washington County Holiday Basket Program.
With Salvation Army coordinating, there are now three delivery options:
1. Drop off your gifts at our designated distribution center and we will give your gifts to your sponsored family (highly recommended because tax receipt can be provided).
2. Volunteer at our distribution center to not only hand out gifts to your family but to many others as well (highly recommended because tax receipt can be provided).
3. Deliver the gifts to your sponsored family and share in person the gift of giving.
Information on families is available in Human Resources starting today, Tuesday, November 27, 2007. Each department, who adopts a family, is responsible for filling the basket with the fixings for a holiday meal, gifts for any children and delivering it to the family. Smaller departments are encouraged to work together in providing for a family.
Sponsoring a basket will make a welcome difference to a needy family in our community. Thank you in advance for sharing with those in need this holiday season.
