Pacific University received notification on July 31, 2008 from USGBC (United States Green Building Council) that Berglund Hall has received the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold rating. USGBC awarded the full 39 points necessary to receive the Gold rating.
Pacific University has now received three Gold ratings for its newly constructed buildings. The first building to be LEED rated was the library which received a Certified rating. LEED ratings are Certified, Silver, Gold and Platinum. All of the buildings constructed since the library have been awarded LEED Gold. Those buildings include Burlingham Hall, Health Professions Campus, and now Berglund Hall can be added to this prestigious list. Gilbert Hall, our newest residence hall, is also well on its way to receiving a Gold rating.
