Update from the Pandemic Flu Task Force - H1N1 virus, September 28, 2009

The Pacific University Pandemic Task Force meets on a regular basis. After each meeting, the group shares all new and updated information. The latest information is attached.

In addition to resources on the Pacific pandemic flu information page, the task force recently discussed useful FAQ's, downloadable guides and signs people can place in community spaces, faculty engagement in on-line alternatives to ensure continued course progress through several scenarios, and Pacific Facilities' vigilant rotation and maintenance of prevention sanitizers.

All updated information can be found at www.pacificu.edu/pandemicflu, and the Pandemic Flu Task Force recommends all students, faculty, and staff bookmark the page and check for updates often.

Pacific University is continuing to monitor the worldwide activity of the H1N1 influenza virus through CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and WHO (World Health Organization) publications.  We remain in close communication with Oregon State and County health officials on the status of H1N1 in our region.   Pacific's Pandemic Task force is communicating regularly to ensure that we are prepared to address the health and safety of our Pacific community in the event of an outbreak. We take guidance from the CDC, State and County health officials, and we are actively involved in developing contingency plans to avoid disruption to our college community. Early consideration of the kinds of questions that might arise will aid in successful preparation and response to issues as we anticipate the annual flu season ahead of us.
