Teach in China in Fall 2010

Graduating seniors can enjoy an amazing international experience next fall as a participant in Pacific's Teach in China program!

Current seniors and recent graduates from all Pacific University majors are invited to apply for this program.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
This program provides a means for cultural exchange between our partners in China and Pacific University's graduates. Chinese students get the opportunity to learn about American culture and the English language from native speakers, while Pacific graduates can immerse themselves in Chinese language and culture.

Over the past five years, twelve graduates of Pacific University have been selected to participate in the Chinese teaching program provided by the Berglund Center. Most have succeeded despite having little to no Chinese language or teaching experience.

BONUS PROGRAM BENEFIT! Any loans you have accrued during your undergrad years will "stop" - you do not need to make payments while teaching in China, although interest does continue to accrue.

Applications Due November 1, 2009 for Fall 2010 Positions.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Am I paid while in China?
A: Yes! You will be paid 4000 yuan monthly (approximate 500 USD), which is more than enough to live comfortably in China.

Q: What's covered by the program?
A: Round-trip airfare, visa expenses, and housing. You will be required to purchase your plane ticket and pay for your visa but will be reimbursed for them at the end of your contract. Housing is provided near the school, usually in an apartment.
