Update from the Pandemic Flu Task Force - H1N1 virus, Oct. 29, 2009

The Pacific University Pandemic Task Force meets on a regular basis. After each meeting, the group shares all new and updated information. The latest information is attached.

Important Flu Information for High Risk Students

The Student Health Center is making every effort to identify students who are at high risk for complications from seasonal and H1N1 influenza. In order to ensure that we have vaccine available for our high risk students, please contact the Student Health Center at 503-352-2269 if you have a chronic lung, cardiovascular, liver, neurological, metabolic (e.g. diabetes) or blood disorder that may put you at high risk. Also, persons with immunosuppression caused by medications, HIV or other illnesses are high risk and should contact the Health Center.

For the seasonal flu vaccine you can schedule an appointment to receive this now while supplies last. For H1N1, we will contact you when we receive the vaccine. Currently, there are no H1N1 vaccinations available for the University community. Students who are enrolled in the MFA in Writing or Lane County programs may come to the Student Health Center to receive a vaccine.

General H1N1 Influenza Information

Pacific University’s Student Health Center will provide the H1N1 vaccine to students, staff and faculty at no charge. The Student Health Center will hold multiple vaccine clinics at both the Forest Grove and Hillsboro campuses when the H1N1 vaccine becomes available.

Information on dates and times will be widely published throughout campus and emailed to each student, staff and faculty member when more vaccines, including both seasonal and H1N1, become available.
