Alyssa (Wollam) Baker '00 and Jeremiah Baker '01
At the start of Alyssa's senior year and Jeremiah's junior year at Pacific we met.
You would think on a small campus like Pacific and with mutual friends we would have bumped into each other quite often but that was not the case. I had heard Jeremiah's name quite often from my friends but had never had the pleasure of meeting him.
At the start of the year my best friend and I had rented an apartment off campus and Jeremiah and his friends had also rented an apartment off campus. Our roommates happened to be dating so we started to get to know each other. Meanwhile a friend of ours had rented a house with an apple tree in the backyard and I had been asked to make an apple pie with their apples. The word had spread that I was making apple pies and soon I had several requests for pies.
One special request would change our lives forever ...
While sitting at a Boxer soccer game Jeremiah leaned over and asked "When are you going to make me an apple pie?" I quickly replied with the bold answer of "When are you going to take me to the movies?" He said "Friday" and I replied "Wednesday.” Jeremiah arrived on Wednesday to help make the pie (first sign he was a keeper) and we had a wonderful time on Friday at the movies and the rest is history.
We have now been married for five years and have two wonderful children.
