Introduction:
This course will allow the optometrist to differentially diagnose metabolic diseases, including Tay-Sachs, Niemann-Pick, Albinism, Homocystinuria and Galactosemia. Stress is placed on systemic and ocular manifestations and treatment of each.
At the completion of this course, the optometrist will be able to diagnose and treat:
Tay-Sachs Disease and other gangliolidoses
Niemann-Pick Disease
Albinism and Ocular Albinism
Homocystinuria, and
Galactosemia
