DENISE GOODWIN , O.D., F.A.A.O.

Dr. Goodwin joined Pacific University College of Optometry in 2001 and is now a tenured associate professor.  She teaches Clinical Procedures including refraction and binocular testing, case history, and ocular health procedures.  She also instructs in Ophthalmic Imaging, Functional Neuroanatomy and Neurobiology, and advises third year students in primary care clinic.  She received the Clinical Faculty Member of the Year Award in 2004.  In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Goodwin maintains a part-time practice in primary care optometry.

Dr. Goodwin has authored a number of courses for Pacific's on-line continuing education program and and for Optometry: Journal of the American Optometric Association.  She was involved in revising the Cornea chapter for Bartlett and Jaanus’ Clinical Ocular Pharmacology.  Her research interests include neuro-ophthalmic disease and ocular disease.

Born in Blackfoot, Idaho, Dr. Goodwin enjoys outdoor activities, including hiking and skiing.  She sums up her passion for teaching at Pacific:
