Dr. Hua comes to Pacific University in 2007 from Pennsylvania College of Optometry where he completed a residency in Primary Eye Care. Dr. Hua holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and has done postdoctoral research at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and The National Cancer Institute. He teaches the pharmacology and biochemistry at the college and advises students in the primary and medical eye care clinics. He is also an AHA instructor for first aid and CPR. He is friendly and very approachable. He enjoys interacting, learning and working with students.
Dr. Hua is a native of Toronto, Ontario, CANADA. His research interests include Ocular Therapeutics, Biochemical and Molecular Basis of Ocular Disease. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his young children.

What does he enjoy most about teaching at the College of Optometry?

I enjoy the opportunity to know and interact with many new and returning students from different backgrounds.
I enjoy being able to train and facilitate interns’ steady transformation from trainees to doctors.

I enjoy all the friendly and helpful supports and delightful conversations with an excellent group of PUCO staffs and administrators.

I enjoy working in a green and well-sustained environment at Pacific University campus and city of Forest Grove.
