Areas of expertise and interest include pediatrics, infant vision development, vision therapy, and ethics. Research interests are the ethical concerns of practicing optometrists, the use of monofit contact lenses and their effect on stereopsis, and the use of new technologies with the pediatric population. Current projects involve developing a model for teaching ethics throughout the professional health care student curriculum for which he received the Hewlett Foundation Award in 2000. He serves as the instructor for the pediatrics and vision therapy courses
