After graduating from Northeastern State University College of Optometry in Oklahoma, Dr. Williams worked extensively in Indian Health Service hospital-based and multi-disciplinary outpatient clinics in Alaska, Nevada and Arizona.  Dr. Williams is currently a Professor of Optometry at Pacific University College of Optometry, where she has worked since 1990.  She is Chief of the Ocular Disease and Special Testing Clinic at Pacific, and also teaches students in the area of ocular disease, both in the classroom and clinic.  Her interest in Native American eye care has led to serving as coordinator for diabetic eye screenings at the Native American Rehabilitation Center in Portland. 

In addition to her responsibilities at Pacific University, Dr. Williams works as an optometric physician at Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute in Oregon and Washington.

 

Born in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Dr. Williams grew up on her family’s cattle ranch in eastern Oklahoma. She enjoys flower gardening, attending musical and theatrical productions, snow skiing, fitness training, playing Taiko drums, and traveling.  Dr. Williams also enjoys participating in eye care missions, and has had the opportunity to provide eye care in Indonesia, Cambodia and Brazil.
