Education and Tuition

The master's degree requires about two years (6 semesters) of study, including 41 semester hours of course credit, clinic-observation experience, and a written thesis based on an original research project.

In recognition of the extensive education that optometry graduates receive in vision science,

students may be able to complete the MS requirements with 1 year (3 semesters) of study if they have received an O.D. degree from an ACOE (Accreditation Council on Optometric Education) accredited program. Students currently matriculated in the Pacific University College of Optometry may be able to complete the MS requirements concurrent with the OD degree or with 1 year (3 semesters) of study in addition to their OD degree. In any case, however, the amount of time required to meet the requirements for graduation can vary depending upon the circumstances.

The tuition is charged on per semester basis. The estimated tuition for all 6 semesters in total is about US$45,000 in the year of 204-2015. Opportunities for financial support are available for application.
