For those of you new to the University, Welcome! And for those of you who are not new, Welcome Back! As the parent or guardian of a student of Pacific U, you are automatically a member of the Parent Association. We officially formed and held our first meeting in April of 2007, so we are a fairly new group, but are rapidly growing!
For those of you who attended Orientation this fall you may have met some of our board members but in case you were not there let us take a few moments to introduce ourselves. Katrina Hamer is the president, Neil and Eileen Schneider are vice president and secretary, respectively, with Gwen Brass as our treasurer. Other members include Gene and Linda McIntyre, Dan Kaiser, Lynne Taylor, and Mike and Anne Mathis. We recently signed up two new board members, Robin Lund and Shelley Pacarro.
There are many exciting events coming up in the next few months that you may want to attend. One such event is Family Weekend. It is our pleasure to personally invite you to the festivities. Like many others that weekend, we’ll be wearing red shirts and nametags identifying us as Parent Association members. Please come and introduce yourselves to us. We hope to see you Friday evening to help decorate the Parent Association float and ride in the Noise Parade, 1:30 Saturday in the Fireside Lounge; and at 3:00 on the Sake’ One plant tour. You will need to sign up for the SakèOne tour as seating is limited! SakèOne is something not to be missed, check out their website at www.sakeone.com
