EMS Instructions For Preceptors

EMS is accessed at  https://www.ems-webs.com/Pacific/

Your username is your first and last name separated by a period. This is the format:

harry.potter

Your initial password is Password. When you initially log on, you will be prompted to change your password.

The Affiliate Profile page is where you start out after you sign in. The information you see here is what is available to the student. This page = Home on the left of the screen.

The remainder of the links on the left of the screen allow you access various EMS functions and tools.

The next link on the left goes to Activity Logs. This is where a students logs their daily activities and assigns a percentage of their time spent on those activities, and where a preceptor can review those activities

Next is Evaluations. Since we are using SUCCESS (for which a link is provided), this is empty at this time.

Forms & Documents comes next, and really speaks for itself. At the moment, the Manual is in there, but we will migrate more and probably duplicate some of the stuff on the Preceptor Page at Pacific’s website just to make sure access to those resources are easy.

Password is where you can change your password. You may change your password at any time.

Rotations outlines what rotations you have scheduled for the particular year we’re in, and which students you will have. From this page, you can e-mail the students.

Select site allows you to go to the preceptor facility to which you are affiliated. You are listed as the primary contact. This allows you to inform us if there are any changes: new mailcode, new zip code etc. for the site. Because the EMS system is preceptor-based vs. site-based, you would not usually do much at your site page other than to inform us of physical or data changes.

Next are links to Pacific’s Preceptor Resources page and to the SUCCESS assessment website.

There are two buttons on top of the page, to the right. The first button looks like this: Update the Profile and is labeled “Update Profile”. Utilize this to update your e-mail addresses or to include a profile.

The next button looks like this: Request an Address Changeand is labeled “Address Request”. Utilize this button to request that we change information about your physical address.
