IRB Scheduled Meetings and Submission Deadlines
In order to allow for review time, proposals are due approximately three weeks before a scheduled meeting.
The time you should allow for approval can vary widely, depending on the complexity of the proposed study, as well as the quality of the proposal. Proposals that qualify for either exempt or expedited review should, by definition, take less time than proposals that require full review. In general, you should allow at least three weeks from time of submission for proposals that are exempt or expedited. For proposals that require full review, allow at least one full month for approval.
However, as noted previously, this time can vary depending on the modifications that are required on the proposal and if additional review is required by individuals with certain expertise applicable to the proposal. For example, proposals involving incarcerated populations are generally reviewed by someone affiliated with the Department of Corrections who also has research knowledge. This can increase the amount of time required for approval.

All meetings take place in the Berglund Conference Room (#200) at the Forest Grove Campus from 3:30-5:30 PM.
