The School of Professional Psychology at Pacific University (SPP) is a practioner-scholar program, with a clear focus and emphasis on educating practitioners of professional psychology.
There are two program options within the School: an M.A. degree in Counseling Psychology or a Psy.D. degree in Clinical Psychology.
The Counseling program emphasizes lifespan and specialty tracks that reflect current mental health service delivery trends. Courses are offered in the afternoon and evening to accommodate work schedules, and our community partnerships give students the chance to practice and research in settings consistent with our specialty tracks.
The Clinical program has a cutting edge curriculum that reflects the latest empirical findings. The program emphasizes a broad range of theoretical perspectives and fosters development of the full range of competencies in assessment, intervention, consultation, supervision, research, and management. It promotes provision of services to diverse populations at individual, family, group, and community levels. The program manages its own Psychological Service Center and APA-accredited Internship and also has an excellent record of student placement in outside internship facilities.
