2012-2013 Senators and their terms end dates are:
Melodye Mac Alpine (2013) has worked at Pacific University since 2006 and is currently the Director of Graduate & Professional Student Services. She has been working in student affairs administration for over 9 years and has held positions in several areas of student life including student activities, first year experience, leadership development, and academic advising. Melodye is originally from the Buffalo/Niagara Falls area of New York State and also lived in Massachusetts for 3 years before settling in Oregon - she does not miss the snow at all! In her spare time, Melodye enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, Abigail and Paige. Their favorite activities are things that allow them to enjoy the beautiful Oregon weather – going to the park, zoo, beach, etc. Melodye’s favorite thing about working at Pacific is being able to get to know students on a personal level and to watch them grow as they make their way through their program.
Lonnie Anderson (2014)
Lonnie is the 2012-2013 Staff Professional Development Committee Chair.
Donna Hepler (2013) began working at Pacific University in 1992 in the Mail Services Department. She is currently the Supervisor of University Mail Services. What Donna Likes the most about working at Pacific University is being a part of the support services for the students, as well as the opportunity to work in a career that provides so many cross cultural and diverse experiences. Donna enjoys working at Pacific and believes it is an honor and a privilege to work with in this challenging, and learning environment. She feels that seeing the transformation of a student during their academic career is very rewarding. In her spare time Donna enjoys spending time with her two grandsons, family, gardening and riding her horses.
Diana Burda (2013) has been with Pacific University since November of 2001, working primarily with Graduate Admissions since 2006. She loves the work involved with attracting and keeping good applicants and then seeing them later as students. The graduate student population is challenging but rewarding. Prior to coming to Pacific, she worked at Intel Corporation for over 22 years, in a variety of customer service, marketing and training positions and that experience drives her constantly to help affect change and improve process improvement at Pacific. Diana is the 2012-2013 Communications Committee chair.
Lois Hornberger (2013) started working at Pacific University in January 2007 as the Director of University Conference Services. Prior to coming to Pacific University she was the Executive Director of the Forest Grove Chamber of Commerce. She has also been employed by a local church as the Youth Director and continues to assist with the accounting process in the family business. Lois is a Forest Grove native, actually growing up in Scoggins Valley before the lake was developed, and is married to a Pacific University alumnus. Lois represents the University on the Forest Grove Economic Development Commission, the Forest Grove City Club Board of Directors, and the Forest Grove Chamber of Commerce Tourism Committee. Lois loves working with Pacific Conference Services Student Staff. They are hard-workers and quick to add levity and humor when conference business becomes tedious and demanding. They are outstanding ambassadors for the University. Lois is the 2012-2013 Governance Committee Chair
Rita Barton (2014)
Rita started work at Pacific University in 2008 on the School of Pharmacy’s Experiential Team, focused on graduate student placements in clinical experiences. Over the past three years she has found diverse committee work an opportunity to engage with other Pacific staff, as well as faculty. She enjoys the dynamic, progressive environment and open nature of the Pacific community within the program and beyond. The benefit of attending classes at the university has brought incomparable experiences in project work with undergraduate students as peers. Rita’s route to Oregon traversed New Mexico, Virginia and Michigan. She has seventeen years of administrative experience, nine in academic settings, in addition to several years in the arts-based small businesses. Her favorite pastimes include spending time with her husband and dogs in the beautiful Oregon countryside, live music performances and discovering new avenues for learning.
Ben Dictus (2014)
Ben Dictus has worked at Pacific for the last three years in the department of Residence Life. He began as a Resident Director for McCormick Hall, but currently holds the position of Area Coordinator and manages Clark, Gilbert, and McCormick halls. Ben began his student affairs career as a Leadership Consultant for his fraternity and traveled to over 50 different universities throughout the Midwest from 2006-2008. Following that experience he went to graduate school at Bowling Green State University in Ohio and helped first generation students make the transition to college life in their TRIO program. A Wisconsin native, Ben loves how well Oregon does the outdoors! He also coaches rugby at Pacific, plays rugby in Portland league, and thinks Pacific students are some of the most genuine and interesting people out there!

Eric Lambert (2014)
Eric started working at Pacific University in January 2011 as a Network Administrator within University Information Services. Since then he’s often had the opportunity to work with different areas of the University and has enjoyed the challenges of helping move technology forward and create a positive experience for everyone. While not directly working with students, Eric has appreciated the close-knit feel and friendliness of the University and the ability to get to know others through campus activities and using Pacific Outback resources. Eric and his wife Kristi moved from Wisconsin to Oregon in 2010 and really enjoys being able to spend time outdoors anywhere from the mountains to the coast – even the rain isn’t that bad since the summers easily make up for it!

Megan Serenco (2014)
Jimmy Short (2014)
Andrea Stewart (2013) began working at Pacific University in January 2006 when she was hired as Manager of Administrative Services for the Athletic Department. She manages the budgets for our 21 varsity sport programs in the Athletics Department “amongst other duties”. She previously served on Staff Senate in 2008-2009 and on many other committees across campus. Andrea represents Pacific University on the WCVA Sports Committee and is an active participant in the Boxer Club. She enjoys attending our athletic events here on campus! One of the best things about this campus are the people, which makes coming to work so rewarding. Before Pacific she enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom with my four children. With her oldest entering high school, she keeps busy tracking four schedules plus her own!
