Student Life Mission
The Student Life Division is an amalgam of services for all Pacific students, graduate and undergraduate, to ensure that their lives out of the classroom at Pacific are of the highest possible quality. Comprised of 30 people across 13 departments, Student Life provides a high-quality resource for students from simple entertainment to a full system of intervention when the student shows such a need. The majority of services are located in the Student Life corridor in the University Center. Located here are the Dean of Students and Assistant Dean of Students Offices, Housing, Multicultural Services, Learning Support Services for Students with Disabilities, Residence Life and Professional Programs Services.
Also located in the University Center in other locations are the Student Activities Office and the Pacific Information Center. Services located at sites outside the University Center include the Health and Counseling Center, Pacific Outback, and Campus Public Safety. Student Life also serves as a link between students and other departments or divisions.
The division works regularly with the Admissions Office, Registrar's Office, Business Office, Career Development Center, the Humanitarian Center, International Program and the Financial Aid Office. For students who don't know where to go for the answer to a question or for help about any facet of life on (or in some cases, off) campus, Student Life can be a good place to start.
The mission of Student Life is to support the educational roles of Pacific University. Through fostering development of the whole student, we strive to create an open environment that promotes:
- Critical thinking Respect and exchange of ideas Social/civil responsibility and action Personal growth and development
- Appreciation for lifelong learning in a changing world
