Housing Lottery:

To Retain Your Current Space On-Campus

To retain your current room, please complete the following steps:

    1. Complete and return the 2008 Housing Lottery Application that was mailed to your U.C. Box or is available in the Student Life Office. Please note: you will be contacted by the Housing & Residence Life Office via e-mail if your room is not retainable for the fall semester.
    2. Pay the $100 Housing Lottery Entrance Fee (Returning students must submit each year) to the Student Life Office.
    3. Secure enough eligible roommates to live with.
    4. Locate your Lottery Number on the web on April 2nd after 5pm.
    5. Locate your Retain Your Room Appointment available on the web on April 7th after 5pm.
    6. Attend your Retain Your Room Appointment and bring your eligible roommates with you (or attend your roommate's appointment -- go to the earliest appointment). Bring your student ID card. If you cannot attend due to a scheduling conflilct, complete an Absentee Room Selection Form.
    7. Watch the Lottery Calendar for important dates and information.
    8. Review policy information below, so there are no surprises.

    Make the published deadlines:

    All paperwork and the Housing Lottery Entrance Fee must be returned by the published deadline. If any item is late or incomplete, you will not be able to select space until after the Lottery concludes.

    If you miss your Contract Date/Time Appointment:

    If you or your desired roommates should miss your contract time appointment you have three options:

    1. You may come to the Alumni Room during the last half hour on your scheduled night.
    2. You may come in during the Late Sign-Up Period to make a selection.
    3. If your desired roommate has a future contract date/time you may select during their appointment.

If you want to change your room after your Contract Date/Time appointment:

Once you have made a housing selection; changes will only be processed by the way of the Summer Wait List or changes can be made during Late Sign-Ups (based on rooms that remain vacant after the Lottery concludes).
