2009 Lu'au Week Schedule
April 5, 2009 - April 12, 2009
Saturday April 4
- 7:30 am - CARGO pick up. Meet vans b/w Mac and Clark. Contact Chris Lee or Jason Luke (Call Delta Air Cargo for Hours 1-800-352-2746, 503-249-4180, M-F 5 am-10 pm, Sat. 9 am-1 pm, Sun closed)
- 10:30 am - Around this time the crates will arrive at the UC, some will go down to the PAC.
- *ALL Committee Chairs are required to meet the shipments and help unload, EVERYONE else, please kokua too!!!
- 11:30 am - Move risers, etc.
- Move backdrop frames and wood, etc. to PAC from bugshop (motor pool).
- 12:15 pm - Move decorations from Scott Hall
- Bring 2X4 Bracing from Clark basement and Curtains
- 12:45 am - Move Country Store stuff to PAC 102 until Monday
- 1:15 am - Move leis and decorations to MPR
- 2:00 pm - Move food stuff to Alumni Room
Sunday April 5
- 9:00 am - Interstate Rentals -- Stage Set up North Court - PAC
- 1:00 pm - Backdrop frames -- Check w/ Hala`i.
- Bring them up from PAC downstairs. Put everything by the North Court, West side.
- *We need everybody’s help at the PAC please!*
- 2:00 pm - Set-up Risers -- Check with Kaeo.
- Check diagrams.
Monday April 6
- 8:00 am - Facilities needs help with backdrop and frames ALL DAY.
- 9:00 am - Stage set up. Check w/ Aaron Kaeo
- Stage needs to be done by 4 pm
- 10:00 am - Lights pick up with Joel Hobso
- Contact Bryson Vivas and Chad Asato.
- 3:00 pm - Sound set-up in the PAC. Musicians and stage committee please attend.
- 5:00 pm - Lights set up. Contact Bryson Vivas and Chad Asato.
- 7:00 pm - Luau Chairpersons Meeting – Burlingham Conference Room
- 7:30 pm - Sound check, Food committee work, see Moki.
- 8:00 pm - Special practices may be scheduled by instructors with musicians, if needed Contact Travis Young or Mikala Souza.
Tuesday April 7
- 7:00 pm - General meeting in PAC in front of the stage EVERYBODY ATTEND!!!
- 7:15 pm - First half of show rehearsal (2X)--meet in the PAC
DON'T FORGET TO BRING YOUR HOMEWORK!!
There is time for you to study during rehearsals.
Wednesday April 8
- 5:30 am - CARGO pick up. Contact Jason Luke or Chris Lee.

- 10:30 am - Move Country Store and Decorations to the PAC from Scott Hall.
- 7:00 pm - Luau Chairperson's Meeting--in front of stage
- 7:15 pm - Second half of the show (2X)--meet in the PAC. Everyone help staple and organize Luau Programs between dance numbers.
- Lay out tarp on gym floor and tape.
Thursday April 9
- 5:30 am - CARGO pick up. Contact Jason Luke or Chris Lee. We don't know if there will be a third shipment.
- 9:00 am - Around this time the crates will arrive at the UC, some will go down to the PAC.
- *ALL Committee Chairs are required to meet the shipments and help unload, EVERYONE else, please kokua too!!!
- 10:00 am - Dig the pit for the pig. See CJ Aalona. Check with Mark Brist for the tent.
- 11:00 am - Chairs delivered at PAC. Help setting up is needed!
- 6:00 pm - Fronthouse and Host/Hostess meeting. Contact Sarah Kodama, Laine Higa, Jared Nakama, Alicia Kepa
- **pick up wood and equipment to dig the hole for the pig
- **pick up parents at airport
- 7:15 pm - Entire show 2 X's
Friday April 10
- 9:00 am - Pig arrives--Carlton packing to deliver
- 9:30 am - Set up for Parent Registration outside the Alumni Room
- 10:00 am - Parent meeting
- 11:00 am - Work on the stage -- PAC
- Sew Leis in the MPR -- contact Tiana or Tia Navarro.
- Make floral decorations in the MPR -- contact Janelle Tamashiro and Taryn Kamaura.
- 1:00 pm - Country Store needs help with moving goods to the PAC. Come on down between classes and help unload and organize. We need lots of kokua!
- 1:30 pm - Help take floral arrangements to PAC for Country Store. 2 VANS needed for transport.

- 6:00 pm - Dress Rehearsal -- Entire show
- 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm - Parent's dinner in Aramark on your own time.
- 8:30 pm - Hana Hou -- ENTIRE SHOW.
Saturday April 11 -- LU'AU DAY!!!
- 8:00 am - Country Store set up
- 10:00 am - Country Store opens at PAC
- 12:00 pm - Decorations Committee: put table cloths, place mats and center pieces on tables in UC. Please help Janelle, Taryn, and Tami. Put up sigsn and slippers. Please help Aileen and Tanya Pang.
- 3:15 pm - Front House, Line runners and servers report to the UC.
- 4:00 pm - Light check!
- Contact Bryson. Country Store shuts down! PAC cleared of all people
- Parent monitors at all outside doors
- 4:30 pm - Dancers and musicians report to the PAC!
- 4:30-6:00 pm - Kau Kau Time -- Dinner
- 4:45 pm - Host and Hostess report to PAC.
- 5:30 pm - Doors open -- Dancers and musicians report to PAC
- 5:45 pm - Musicians Pre Show
- Kahiko gets dressed
- 6:00 pm - Get dressed for first dance
- 6:10 pm - Dance room -- NHOH general meeting
- Find EKG to lead meeting
- 6:30 pm - SHOW STARTS -- Have a great time and Good Luck!
CLEAN UP (Meaning LU'AU Night right after the show):
**Note: Just because there is a Clean Up committee this year that DOES NOT mean that only the committee members need to clean up. The committee will assist everyone by announcing what areas/tasks need more help at that time. Everyone should help with the clean up! See Ryan for instructions. If you do not know what to do or if you have nothing to do SEE Ryan!!!!!!!A. Clean up PAC and dressing rooms (eg. sweep & throw away trash). See Mish and Christine.
B. After the show we will ALL help to clean up:
- Return all costumes to Costume committee chairpersons Vanessa Machado and Donna Ramos and return to NHOH Storage Room.
- Stack all chairs nicely in the hallway.
- Take apart the stage. See Kaeo.
- Put decorations away. See Christine or Michaelle.
- Backdrop goes to the Wood Shop. See Hala`i or Chaz.
- Carpet picked up and put away. Sweep gym floor & bleachers. See Kaeo.
- Clean up concessions (country store), put things in storage. See Abby and Kanoe.
C. Clean up the UC.
- Reset Fireside Lounge UC Decorations Committee, After Party and After After Party.
- Reset & clean MPR. Decorations and Leis committee this is your responsibility. Only after these thing are done will we have the After Party!
--ONLY club members, their parents, advisors and those who helped us will be able to participate in the After Party.
--Remember if you have friends coming to stay with you during luau week:
THEY ARE REQUIRED TO DO EITHER 1) HOST & HOSTESS AND AFTER PARTY OR 2) FRONTHOUSE AND AFTER PARTY. Dancers can use their practice and rehearsal hours towards their 35 hours but be advised that instructors will be taking attendance at all practices and rehearsals.
--AFTER PARTY - After party tickets are necessary to attend!
Sunday April 12
- 10:00 am - Take down stage -- Please kokua!!!
- Risers need to be returned to UC and Music Building
- Make sure gym is clean!
- 2-5 pm - Clean up all the left over food. Check with Moki. Clean up must be completed before food is distributed. Bring your own containers! Contact Moki.
