Classroom Technology

University Information Services offers a wide range of technology in classrooms on all of our campuses. We offer six types of classrooms for use:

Presentation Podiums Classrooms

Installed Audio/Visual Classrooms

Classrooms with Mobile Audio/Visual Projection Carts

Basic Audio/Visual Classrooms

Study & Collaboration Rooms

Entertainment Rooms

A printable brochure outlining the equipment available in each classroom is available here.

The front of each podium and audio/visual cabinet is locked with an Audio/Visual Key (AV Key). Faculty and staff may be issued AV keys from facilities management. Students needing access to the podiums should contact the Technology Information Center or Campus Public Safety.

All of the presentation podiums are equipped with InterWrite PRS student response receivers, for class use. Please click here to read more about the clicker technology. The "clickers" are sold at the Pacific University bookstore. The Technology Information Center does not provide clickers for check-out to professors for courses.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the classroom technology, or to schedule training with the equipment, please contact the Technology Information Center at 503.352.3132 or help@pacificu.edu.

Bill Bradbury

Bill Bradbury, Oregon's former Secretary of State, recently attended the Pacific University Focus the Nation event on January 30th, 2008. During his visit he mentioned to the crowd that while hosting talks on global warming across the region and using different projection systems at these venues, including many universities; none of the audio-visual technology measured up to the quality and ease of use to that of the technology employed on Pacific's campus.
