Oregon Surf Adventure


Yes! We have added this new Voyage at long last. This is the perfect beginners’ surf session. Three days camping at the famous Oswald West State Park on the Northern Oregon coast and walking to your own sandy beach for surfing, hiking, and relaxing. This Voyage has it all: fine food, surf instruction, boards, wetsuits, amazing scenery, and even campground bathrooms to make life easy. Spaces are limited so register soon.

Local Permaculture Voyage

Take a journey of a thousand miles starting in Pacific’s own organic farm. Pacific’s B-Street Farm as well as other select organic farms will be the setting for this local Voyage highlighting the practices and values of whole foods and organic farming. Each day you will get your hands in the earth and work with the farmers that bring food to our community. Then each night you will prepare meals that use the goods that you and your fellow Voyagers have harvested that day. This is an outstanding opportunity to meet other folks with similar interests.

Ashland Shakespeare Voyage

We have added a day to this popular Voyage and it is even better than before. You get to explore Southern Oregon and Ashland’s Festival of Shakespearean Theater. You will stay in a hostel in Ashland’s downtown and attend a variety of matinees and evening shows. Monday is left open for relaxing in Lithia Park or exploring the local valley. Few people get to experience this unique slice of Oregon culture. Don’t miss your chance to make it a part of your arrival to Pacific.

Canoeing Waldo Lake Canoe Waldo Lake Oregon Pacific University Voyage

Join us for a magical adventure around Waldo Lake, tucked high in the Cascades. One of the clearest natural lakes in the world, its crystal clear water allows you to see almost 100 feet deep! Time will allow for paddling along the lake’s shores as well as hiking trails to nearby peaks. Each night will be spent camping along the shores.

Seattle by Train

For a truly urban adventure join us for the Seattle Voyage. We set off from Portland’s Union Station and travel by train to downtown Seattle. While staying in the Green Tortoise Hostel, each day is spent exploring Pike’s Place Market and the Seattle waterfront. Art museums, libraries, comedy clubs, the Space Needle, and restaurants are all within a short walk of each other. Seattle is a world city that has a diverse population with many cultures. Rock Climbing: Smith Rock

We have designed this trip specifically for the first-time climber. Our instructors are professionals in the field and the design of the trip makes it perfect for new climbers to learn the basics. Each day you will choose which climbs you want to challenge yourself on. The setting couldn’t be more beautiful. Smith Rock State Park offers easy camping with shower facilities and our tents are only a short walk from bathrooms. Each morning, sunrise blazes bright on the towering rocks with the Crooked River flowing at their feet. Join other new students on this unique voyage. Register today.

Coast Tour 101

Join us for a getaway at the beach and see what Oregon’s wild coastline has to offer. Start the day with a beautiful drive down the famous Highway 101. Enjoy unique lodging in a Yurt at an Oregon Coast State Park. Wake up and explore the magic that low tides allow us to see. Whether tide-pooling, beachcombing, strolling, or hiking, there is natural wonder around every corner. This Voyage also includes a visit to the Oregon Coast Aquarium.

Sea Kayaking: Willapa Bay

Three days circumnavigating Long Island in the middle of Oregon’s Willapa Bay National Wildlife Reserve. Willapa Bay is one of the most pristine estuaries in the United States and is the second largest on the Pacific Coast. Your time will be spent paddling the tidal waters around Long Island, walking its trails and sharing a camp with other new Pacific students. This is a perfect trip for first-time paddlers and experienced kayakers alike.

Whitewater Rafting: Deschutes River, Oregon

Making in a splash in DeschutesExperience the Deschutes like few ever do. Spend three days river running, swimming, rafting, camping, and getting to know other new students who share your love of adventure on Central Oregon’s premier river. This trip offers class 3+ rapids that are sure to excite rafters of all levels. Instruction from experienced guides will provide a fun and satisfying trip that will leave you charged up for your first year at Pacific. Fee includes all required equipment, transportation, food, and instruction. A personal gear list will be provided upon registration.

Backpacking, Oregon Cascades

A four-day traversal of Oregon’s Bull of the Woods Wilderness area ending with a rejuvenating soak in Bagby Hot Springs. This exploration of the Cascade Range allows for less mileage between camps and optional day trips. If you want to share in an adventure with new students but don't want to spend all day under a backpack this is a great option.
