Pacific University Student Health Center Services

The Student Health Center is a professional medical clinic with services provided by licensed Nurse Practitioners and Certified Medical Assistants. The clinic is open Monday through Friday during the academic year and has limited hours during summer and holiday periods.

Treatment of Acute Illnesses and Injuries

Respiratory illnesses, ear infections, urinary tract infections, rashes, headaches, allergies, sprains, etc.

Treatment of Stable Chronic Illness (on a case by case basis)

Asthma, hypertension, depression, anxiety, stress, back and neck pain, etc.

Health Maintenance

PAPS, family planning services, sports and study abroad physicals.

Contraception

Oral contraceptives, Depo Provera, Free condoms

Emergency Contraception

Immunizations

Including Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diptheria (Td), Tetanus/Diptheria/Pertussis (Tdap), and Tuberculosis (TB) screening. (See current prices under "Fees". 

Meningoccocal vaccine--cost is $130.

HPV (Gaurdasil) vaccine is $180 for each injecton (This is a 3 injection series).

Blood draw/Titers (at Forest Grove Clinic only)--cost is $65 per titer.

Hepatitis B, Varicella, Measles, Mumps, Rubella

Lab Testing

Some lab testing is done in the clinic (Rapid Strep, Urinalysis, Oral Swab HIV). Click on fees for prices.  Other lab work can be ordered by the Health Center and performed at a local laboratory. (See titers under immunizations)

Prescriptions Written by Nurse Practitioners as Needed

Prescriptions can be filled at any Oregon pharmacy.  Locations of the closest pharmacies are available at the Health Center.  The Health Center is not a Pharmacy so outside prescriptions can not be filled at the Clinic. 

Health Education & Counseling

Lifestyle changes, risk assessment, prevention of illness, and stress management.

Referrals to Specialists as Indicated

A list of local physicians is available.

Office visits are free; however, there are charges for some medication, supplies, and lab tests. See fee page for more information.

Confidentiality

All Health Center records and communications with staff are confidential and are protected by law. Information will only be released when the patient signs a written "authorization to disclose medical information" form.  The Health Center's records remain separate from other University files and are not considered educational records; there are exceptions regarding danger to self and others which can be discussed with the Health Center staff.
